Mushroom story

Damp wet soil covers the forest floor. At the edge of the meadow weird alien like things grow, invisible to the untrained eye. In a hole in a tree a toadstool grows.
Night falls. As dark clouds hang over the meadow more mushrooms start to grow.
As light shines upon the meadow the rows of red toadstools stand strong and tall. The meadow is no longer green grass and full of deer. It is also a home of fungi.
My Mushroom Description was inspired by this video

The bantam and the soldier summary

Young Bantam getting picked on by the other Bantams and its war time.
When war came to the village he took the good animals with him and he left the bantams to fend for themselves.
The little bantam slept away from the others.
There was an explosion the bantams got blown up except for the little one he stayed in the bush and he was the only one that survived.
The soldiers headed into the village one was Arthur and he got picked on like the bantams by the other soldiers.
The farmer heard movement in the bushes and it was the bantam.
Arthur freed the bantam and put it in his coat pocket.
The soldiers tease Arthur about having the bantam.
The soldiers started to like the bantam.
They collected bugs for her and she rewarded them with a egg.
Bertha kept hope in the soldiers.
The battle moved past them.
They weren't allowed to take bertha with them.
They took Bertha back to the farmer and said goodbye.
Arthur returned home and was friends with his fellow soldiers.
He said to his niece i want to tell you a story and told her about the bantam called Bertha.

Moral and message of the story:
  • if you're nice to people you get good things back
  • if you stay strong in your mind about something to achieve your goals.
  • the chicken brought hope to the soldiers
  • if you are really positive about something and others aren't stay strong about it and eventually they will come around to it.

School Camp day 4

Everyone was on the ferry travelling home. As we crossed the Cook Straits, a few were beginning to feel seasick. The boat was rocking and rolling and the waves were hitting the bow of the boat. All you could hear above the roar of the waves was Mrs Cumings telling people to look out the window at the land in the distance, which was the tip of the South Island.

After an hour or so you could eventually see land ahoy and soon after we were sailing into Wellington Harbour.  When the boat had finally settled, Pam came out of the bathroom.

Once we had arrived and collected our baggage from the carousel, we got into our car groups.  However we just got news about a truck overturning on the road, so we decided to fill in a bit of time and have dinner at a Japanese restaurant called the Wagamama. The meal was totally delicous.

It was just getting dark when we got back into our cars to hit the highway for home.

Camp - day 1

To Marlborough Sounds

As the school went excitedly onto the big big ferry are hearts where full to the brim with excitement. We all could't wait to explore the boat.

As all five groups went to explore the maze of the boat, most of the groups went to the play ground that was... all... the... way... down... stairs.

MY OVERSEAS TRIP

                           MY OVERSEAS TRIP

On the 13th of April my big trip started. Mum and me flew out from Auckland then we arrived at Kuala Lumpar. We swapped planes and we were on the biggest plane ever, an airbus which took us over to London. I really enjoyed watching the cool movies but didn’t really enjoy the food we got. It was such a long way on the plane didn’t sleep too good either.

When we arrived in London we had a couple of days there to have a look around. We did the famous Red Bus Tour, which took us to all the sights around London. We sat up on the top deck which was cool and you got a good look at everything thing. We stopped at Buckingham Palace but the Queen wasn’t home. We watched the guards and they were standing so still. I saw Big Ben, it was so big and it had gold shinning on it. I even got to hear it chime. The next day we went for a cruise down the River Thames, there were heaps of tourists on our boat. It was good to leave London, as it was such a busy city.

We then got on the train up to Edinburgh, to see Scottish Grandad and Uncle Graham. We visited so many of places. I liked going to see Edinburgh Castle and I saw the Scottish Crown Jewels. Scottish Grandad took us to Deep Sea World and we got to see the Forth Bridges. I even found grey squirrels at the Princes Street gardens, they were so cute.  I also enjoyed going to Camera Obscure, there were so many weird and wacky things to do, mirror maze and 3d effects it was awesome.

For the last few days left of my trip mum took me on the train up to her hometown Thurso. We stayed with her good friend Tracey. We went for a drive about to show me around to John O Groats and Dunnet Head which is at the very top of Scotland. On our last night we took her dog Georgy a walk down to the river then we went to see Thurso Castle which is now just a ruin.
Then we got all our things packed up as we then had to head back down to Heathrow to get our flight back to New Zealand.
P.S the UK is the best place in the world I have ever been

Camp - day 3

As we all rushed to the Nature Tour boat carrying all our stuff we then ran into the boat and set off. The Marlborough Sounds was amazing. We saw Hector dolphins with the rounded dorsal fin. As well on the boat we got to do singing which was funny! We all had a ball, Then we went back to Picton Harbor for one night and stayed one night at the Villa. The best thing was we had a spa!! At night Jada had fell of the top bed. Chonny then found Hannah with her head under her bed. She touched her to make sure she was alive. ,She was.

Camp - day 2

The wind blew in our faces as we went on the stand up paddle boards. People were sailing their hearts out.
At the jetty James and Johnny were wriggling the hand lines trying to snag a big one,on the side of the jetty using mussels as bait.
Nachos for dinner tonight with mince and cheese ... yum! all you can herd was the chowing and  When everyone went back to the counter to more! when Hannah's group had to clean up. Then Hannah opened the fridge door and a bowl fell out with a crash!! the bowl was fill with cheese. They cleaned the crashed bowl up but there was still a tiny little bit of glass left. Hannah was being funny and popped a squat on the floor and got a bit of glass in her BOTTOM!!

In the morning we had bacon and eggs for breakfast YUUUUM!! and everyone was chowing down on chocolate spread ... oh and cereal. Today I'll go on the sup board.

Mistletoe Bay Camp - Day 1

As we went on the ferry are hearts beating. We found a spot and sat down for lunch. After that we went out to look around. We all went to the play ground and other stuff. We went to the top deck and then did other stuff. We then went back to our seat to get a drink and food. We went back to the playground the playground was fun, but then sadly it closed.
